Well, that took a turn I did not expect in the headline! So glad you and he both are saved and safe.

From the title to the last sentence, I absolutely loved this, especially the way you and pittie were both saved by this "chance" interaction. Great story and lesson Lynn! ♥

Thank you so much, Michelle. God makes a way where there is no way. And I'd really dug my heels in on my resentment. Now, I love pit bulls. I can appreciate how stinking cute their faces are.

First off: people that react with scrunched noses regarding senior housing seem prejudiced or are lacking creativity. And who cares what they think? It sounds like the perfect choice for you and I'm thrilled.

Second: good for you for persistently taking action. I've been nipped in the face twice by a partial pit. It's no joke. Have a scar from when I was 2. The second time it just missed my eye by a few centimeters. I have other horror tales too...a friend ended up having two ears reconstructed! And a dog I was walking was part pit (unbeknownst to me) and attacked another dog badly. It's so sad, and dangerous. So it's a real thing and a strong tale/tail.

woof!

Hi Erin,

It's amazing to me that you had that terrible experience when you were such a young child, and you are an animal lover anyway. Many would have been scarred for life.

Pit bulls are dangerous for the fact that once they clamp their jaws down, nothing is opening them unless they want their jaws opened. It's unlike any other dog's ability to bite. I'll never let another pit bull near JuJu again. But at least I can appreciate them from afar. Most importantly, I'm over my resentment.
